Quadding/Camping at Brazeau Dam

I'm confused. I read that the Brazeau River Trail reopened July1 however my daughter drove by yesterday and the field that we used to camp in is blocked with logs.
Has anyone been out and are there still decent places to camp besides the campground? I really liked the field with the wood pile, it was always dry, free wood .... what more could a guy ask for? :d

Planning on Quading this weekend at Brazeau for the first time any information would be appriciated?

As far as I know most areas near the dam are closed because of a quader suing the power company for a wreck in the spillway. So I hear??? Don't know all the details.

If you go down Elk River road a few km and camp in the bush.
We camped passed the blocked log pile in the field just further down.
We stayed out of spillway
Go east and north of dam to quad.
Trails lead to Elk River road from dam.
Lots of trails to ride once you find them
