Hey everyone. I have a 2004 800ho. Looking to upgrade the boots and or reed valves. Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this topic. Which are good upgrades and which should I stay away from? I've had guys say stock is best but after looking at the nice one piece boyesen cages they look like a nice option. Also any advice on head upgrade? Again i have people saying don't upgrade. Any real world experience would be very much appreciated.

Stock boots are known to delam causing a lean burndown. I believe the rage cages replace it with an aluminum boot so that is nice. Power gains from reeds is mostly a farce. Heard good things about RKT heads. Would benefit from a pipe to complement the head and obviously keep an eye on jetting with either mod.

Thanks. Is it really that big of a deal to upgrade the jetting to 20's? I do have a high idle once it's warmed up.
