I tested my Yamaha Bravo 250's compression and it is 135lb. I tried searching for what the compression should be on these engines and could not find it anywhere. It has a co zillion miles on it. Just wondering if that is OK.

Thanks I will do check that today sometime, and repost my findings. Some say 120 or more for it to run.

It might be 137 lbs with the throttle wide open. Almost the same though.

Same both sides? If so 137 is fine in my opinion

Hard to believe it is not dead, I was going to do cylinder piston and rings on it. I am just going to leave it. I think the odometer quit at 8000 kilometers 15 years back and that was before a dozen kids went through 5 gallons of gas every week on it for years. It started first pull...my goodness those motors are tough. Castrol cheap two stroke oil is all it has ever seen.

Did some reading on em. Apparently 20000 km is common on these with very little maintenance.

Do they even make replacement pistons for those sleds lol. I don't think they ever blow up! I tried to buy one last year, found a 2004 with 45km! But buddy wanted $7500 and wouldn't wiggle on the price

Well if I had to guess I would put the mileage at 20000 as well. And don't think this is going to ever blow up either.

I bought this one for $800 in Newfoundland and it even came with a spare motor. I am keeping it when my son is finished with it
