I am running a Timbersled intake on my 08 M1000. Very lightweight. I also installed a lot of venting. Don't know if they changed the installation hardware but i found that the self tapping screws were too light and easy to break. I just drilled and tapped holes for larger bolts. Also needed a very long drill bit which is an extra cost. Lot of intake noise. One other issue i have found with many aftermarket intakes is that it is easier to drown out a motor when creek crossing, found out the hard way a little while back. The stock intake definitely has the advantage when crossing water, lol. If i had to do it again, i would add a bunch of hood vents. Lose everything above the air horn, add a couple more vents on top of the stock airbox like Linderman does and some type of filter over the air horn.
