Hey Guys, thought I would take a moment to update anyone who owns or is looking at an ABS Avy Pack, new or used! Over the last year and a half we have run a small service and wholesale out of Squamish, BC while we looked for a new distributer for Canada. I personally took part in this because I new there were a ton of ABS users, myself included that needed support and I firmly believe in the product and it safety. It has not been ideal for everyone but we knew it would not and that we would have to work hard to restore valued shop owners and consumers.
I am happy to report we have found a new distributer and they will be working right away to regain relationships with shops and consumers!

Main Goals Moving Ahead are:

1: Having product in key stores and available on-line
2: Having bottles in each one of those locations to restore the fact that bottles/handles are easy to get from the dealer
3: Bringing our new Pride System to Canada for next season which is in its 3rd generation

If you are in need of an exchange bottle/hande you can contact me at anytime as well as I can either take care of the issue or guide you in the best direction or if your abs pack is in need of a service or was dry fired, I can help you there. dave@davenorona.com

Any questions can also be directed at me through the same e-mail, cheers dave

Just wondering if prices have gone up this year for the exchange kit? I paid quite a bit more this year and am wondering if it's the shop charging a premium or the cost of the refills have gone up?

Thanks

Sorry I am not sure what the cost is, I will say this, in the past and right now, ABS has made it hard for shops to carry the bottles. They charge the stores 25.00 per recharge , plus they have to pay for shipping and buy 5 at a time, then they turn around an sell them for $40.00-$50.00 with an exchange. They might make 10.00 which is hardly worth it. I have pushed hard and will continue to push hard to make these cheaper for shops so they can make some money otherwise you can't blame them for not carrying bottles. We will also have maybe less shops overall but key shops who do the abs brand. I have always said that if you own a canister airbag, you should have a spare filled bottle and in ABS case a spare bottle and handle in your truck or one between a few friends. In 12 years I have only seen 2 blow offs that were by accident, it can happen or say you pull it and you are on a trip, sucks if you can't find a refill or replacement as then your riding without. I had 3 ski-doo riders fly into Kelowna with empty BCA bottles, they went to a shop expecting to have them filled right there only to be told that they would not do them right there but would do them in the next couple of days. The reason for this is now that there are a lot of people with avy packs and say on a tuesday there is one person running the front of the store during the day, say he is selling a sled to someone and you walk in to have a bottle filled that takes about 25-30 minutes, hard to pull that guy away from a big sale for a 10-15 dollar fill. This is not to blame any specific manufacture or shop but it is the reality. Having a spare allows you to reload your airbag right then and there and then at your convenience get a refill or an exchange. It is just part of the ownership cost as far as I am concerned. Those friends had to all buy a new canister.

As a reminder remember now is the time to practice setting off your avy pack as well as testing all your avy gear! Cheers dave
