Hello, I have a 2013 163 stock track with a slp stage 4 kit, I weigh about 270 with all my gear on I ride primarily in Sicamous bc which is 5500-8000 ft I just had the clutches redone last season with new sprains which were the same as the old sprigs, they are in the primary blue with pink stripe and in the secondary gold with black stripe, and am currently running 10-66 weights which were changed from 10-68. I am only getting 7800rpm in deep fresh and 8050 on hard pack. I know stock the best rpm range is 8200-8300 my question is with the slp stage 4 kit should I still be in this rpm range for optimal performance? And is this current spring configuration the proper set up and should I just change the weights to 10-62? or is there someone's clutch kit that will be better for this machine? Carl's?rooster?... I am more of a tree and technical rider as opposed to high marker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

How many miles on the old springs? You are really close and a stock sled works best at 8000-8100 in my opinion if the springs are fresh try 11-66 polaris weights that should get you where you want to be.

I have 300-400 km on the new springs, when you mention that a stock sled works best at 8000-8100 that is is much lower than what I have been told from other people, I have talked with a couple different people who have both said 8200 is optimal and one local Polaris shop tunes their sleds to run 8300... Interesting.

mine pulls better at 8000-8050 my set up is 13.6-1 head, mtntk fix kit, doo thermostate, mbrp can, tki belt drive stock secondary spring, 600 pro primary and 11-66 weights sled pulls good. Doesnt feel like it pulls as hard at 8300 as it does at 8000 track speed is also lower at 8300

Sounds like your stage 4 slp is making less power if you have to lighten up primary weights

Most run 10-60 or 62 gram weights so if he can pull 66 that's making power
I always found a black/ purple 160/240 secondary spring to work good in my modded pro
Usually ran a 40 or 42 straight helix

It was pulling 10-68 weights before slp kit and new springs with same load rating but won't pull 10-66 now it's making less power or springs could be a bit weaker finish rate

No stock pro will pull 68g at 55-8000ft. He was pulling those weights with the slp setup but after changing springs isn't ... Maybe I'm not reading it correctly what's happening. Very easily could have put a softer finish rate spring in and that would drop rpm, bad roller or bushing will also hurt rpm

Sorry for any confusion guys, I purchased the sled with the slp kit on it and the fella that owned it originally was running the 10-68s and was pulling 7600-7850, I then had the clutches all rebuilt with new springs and all the smaller parts that needed replacing replaced and went down in weight to the 66s, I tried calling John in Kelowna but got his answering machine and it was full I'm sure he's a busy guy. I called Chris at parkland motor sports who said the primary that I was running was correct but suggested trying a black/purple secondary spring as some one else here had mentioned and taking the weights down to 64s as he said they run 66s on there turbos at the altitude I'm riding. I asked him about rpm range and he believed that the rpm range with this kit should still be around 8200-8300 so I'm hoping to get there with the new spring and lighter weights.

*** I just want to thank everyone for their advice and help I truly appreciate it and welcome any further sugestions or advice.
