Google came up with this: p1428 = Tuned pipe temperature sensor open circuit

Damaged sensor or damaged sensor wire

So I am guessing that is the sensor in the pipe, not the can... Or other way around?

ethanol fuel related damage mayby...

Fyi... 1428 is a cooked sensor or wire. Replacement is the only option, there are no repairs to be made.

big shout out to Motor Tech in golden, had me in and out within an hour on Saturday!

1000 thanks for posting the answer to this issue. Now the big question, if I replace the sensor, will the code clear or do I need to have it hooked up to Doo's proprietary comp system to reset the code??

I think it cleared on its own but was stored in memory for later.
