I took apart my secondary ('02 800 hmx-rer) to clean and replace the buttons. Am I supposed to wind the spring a notch or so when reinstalling the helix? There is an arrow on the sheave that says "spring tension" or something like it.

I've got some motoseal ultimate grey gasket maker, should I use this instead of the 5910 loctite black rtv recommended by a brp tech? Thanks

I've got motoseal on hand, but was told by a tech in Grande Prairie that they use Loctite 5910, which looks like black rtv silicone. What have you guys been using?

I found one for sale and was wondering if it's known to be a good/bad/or ugly unit? Starts well, has a blade and a winch, tires are in good shape, recoil is shot. It's faded quite a bit but I think it spent winters inside. What's a good price for one of these?

I just bought a HMX and am going through it to see what I need to do before the winter gets here. There is some play in the steering linkage but I think I'll wait till summer to pull the motor to get at it. Chain gear bolts were both loose but I've already run across the proper torque for them...
