Found the problem!

No headlights on my Indy trail 500 (bulbs are good)but I have lights on my speedo and hi/low beam switches. Replaced the regulator,no luck,any suggestions? Thanks.

I also have the 97 indy touring 500 and the exact same thing happened,all the oil on my new shop floor, tightened the loose bolts and no leaks so far.

Great video,thanks for sharing,keep an eye on your ski spindles,sometimes they bend with the ski spreaders.I restored a 71 model and took it out a few times but the track shrunk, it was so tight it busted the chain,gotta get the old girl back on the snow soon.

Get the OEM parts kit,the kimpex and winderosa are junk,check with these guys. www.kartsandparts.com

I have an 85 indy 400 L/C and the headlight works fine,nice and bright then intermittently it goes dim both high and low beam,any ideas?

Thanks,I have the same one,had to sandblast all the metal,the powder coating has peeled really bad.

The only problem I find with the twins they tend to overheat in the warm weather,I removed the linkplates also,all they do is tear up the track edge,dropped the suspention down to the second holes,big difference in travel and the ride. a video on my 75 300ss 75 elan 300ss - YouTube

Those original belts were awesome,I'm sure that rotax 12hp motor was the best made,I've had too many elans to count over the years and yet I've never had to rebuild a carb or motor yet.

Im guessing its for the 76 white hood listed on kijiji right now,you can order windshields from the skidoo dealer for about $60-70,I made my own from lexan,seat covers are plentyfull but untorn seat foam is hard to find,maybe place an ad on kijiji. Good luck

Just wondering if anyone may know if a track from a 98 xc 121x15 1in lug will fit a 85 indy 400 121x15 3/4 in lug,Are the drivers the same pitch,maybe 2.52 ??
