Big thank you to selkirk helicopters

I have nothing but praise for Selkirk! It was our first time having to call a heli and they made the experience easy and completely stress-free! It was also te first time using our spot for anything other than checking in. I think the price was very reasonable too.

    Radio Type (truckers)

I have heard that the marines do work very well... so I am doubly confused now. Does anyone know somewhere in the central alberta area that sells these radios that we can go to get one and that someone can maybe explain them a bit more?

    Radio Type (truckers)

Ok guys, forgive me my girlish stupidity :), I'm a little confused. We (I'm Xtremist's girlfriend) are from Alberta, so will we still be able to get all the BC channels programmed? Do we need a licence? If so, where should we go? And lastly, where exactly should we go to get one of the VHF radios?

Big thank you to selkirk helicopters

He was riding my RMK :-( not his turbo. It was a very sad sight. And not a very fun ride doubling out after it. But I have to agree that Selkirk helicopters were great! It did make for a rather awesome photo op for me though.

I use the habers with my existing googles (spy googles) and they work good.

    Fog proofing glasses

My boyfriend and I have the same issue. We bought Habervisions Eliminators this year and LOVE them. We both have spy googles, his work a bit better but he has a better lens in his glasses than mine, I think anyhow. I would definately recommend them to anyone though.

What are the conditions like at Boulder?

Hey. We are out here for a couple days and wondering if anyone has a current update on the snow conditions. All the other threads addressing this are somewhat outdated. When we were out a couple weekends ago boulder was pretty tracked out, so I'm just wondering if there's any fresh powder to be...

Does anyone know the numbers to call for getting a heli in the Sicamous area?

Thanks Chris. And ya, we know they wont do "emergencies" per se, we have the Spot for that and I have all the RCMP numbers. I ride with a large group that has turbos though and I like to have numbers to get us out if someone breaks down or has problems/ gets stuck etc. I just like to try and be...

caution unloading at blue lake till spring

Thanks for this info. We were possibly going there tomorrow but I think we will stay away. Most people are trust worthy but I don't really like to let my sled be out of eyesight. Was the snow at least worth the hassle?

Does anyone know the numbers to call for getting a heli in the Sicamous area?

We are heading out to sicamous tomorrow for a couple days of riding. I was just curious if anyone knows of a heli service that goes to that area and what their contact information is? I like to have all my numbers in my phone and with my family back home in case of any emergencies. I think we...

Does anyone know where in central Alberta ( Red Deer area) that sells barrels of C12?

Does anyone know a place in the Red Deer area that sells barrels of C12? We usually buy our barrels ( I do believe it's a 45 gallon drum) from Red Deer Power Sports. Unfortunately they are sold out and won't get any until next week. We need some for this weekend when we go sledding. Let me...

    Emergency(SAR) and Helicopter numbers

Indy, I understand that yes, people do need to take responsibility and try and find stuff own their own but for some people who do not live in these areas ( we drive over 6 hours just to come sled the mountains) and it is hard to know who to call. I think that a sticky with all the info would be...

Who do you recommend to call for getting Heli'd out?

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm actually surprised at the costs, they are cheaper than I had expected which is nice to know.
