Any particular problems or issues to watch for on a 2003Dodge cummins 6spd manual? I believe thiswas the first year for the common rail 5.9 and it should have the NV5600 trans. Are the axles AAM or still the Dana 60/80?

I would recommend the typical Cummins stuff to check: ball joints, u-joints from front to rear, wheel bearings, tie rod ends/drag link. NV5600 is the same as in previous years and is a great trans. Service records for all fluids and filters is very valuable IMO. Is it stock, and has it always been stock?

Low mileage garage kept totally stock RCLB out of the States, they're asking a fortune for it but trying to negotiate it down. Had a 2001 so I'm familiar with the frontend issues, this one would get the Carli starter kit once it loosens up same as I did with my 01. I'm more curious on any issues with the pump & injectors; thought they did some upgrades during the common rail run 03-07 but not sure.

2003 had better pistons than the later 2005+ trucks but less hp stock. Injectors can be problematic as they can be on all Dodge CR motors, still not early dmax or 6.0 bad though. They need better fuel filtration to last, recommend 2micron CAT filter it screws right on. NV5600 is a good tranny but very hard to source parts and expensive to rebuild so take care of it.

Yep, very tough trans...... Clutch will be expensive when it's due......keep good fuel filters in it, and drive the truck........ You already know about the front-end issues, and normal maintenance issues, so get the price down where its realistic and then drive it like you stole it :) ..... There is a few lift pumps going, but no worries

You mean a real regular cab, not the Dodge door and a half thing? If so consider resale on anything that isn't a CC/EC, they are hard to move.

Another thing to consider, although a long ways off from use is the AC system. The setup Dodge had in the 3rd gens wasn't too stellar. An electric fan mounted on the condenser, a little more charge in the system than OEM specs and hope that the blend doors are still intact will help out a lot. Otherwise any passenger you have on a 30*C day won't like you or the truck haha. I know my old 04' had the dreaded cold driver, warm passenger syndrome. Good thing I was single for the most part when I owned it:rolleyes:. Sounds like a nice truck from the description!

Yeah it's a regular cab with 8' box not the quadcab, exactly what I'm looking for. Good comment on the hvac blend door, my '01 went cold one day mid-winter and I had to pay a lot for someone to take the dash apart and fix it.

03's had the best mileage in the 3rd gens. I know on the 04's they had some issues with the lift pumps be underhood so they moved them into the tank. As was said about usual front end issues.

Well I ended up putting d/p on a 2012 today. This 2003 would have been sweet but like said they're not moving much on $25k USD and by the time I go to Spokane drive it back pay GST inspections RIV hassle etc it's not worth it for me. Still for sale I think so I'll post the link if I can find it. Craigslist Kelowna is where I saw it but it's a Spokane listing.

Thanks! The truck is a 2012 Ram 2500 CCSB Laramie 6spd manual with 37k on it. My last 2 trucks were base and mid level trims so this will be a nice change.

Got it for $46,500 but it's at a dealer in Saskatoon so have to pay GST plus some $395 BS fee plus it will need OOP inspection I guess as well. Hard to find a manual trans though especially Laramie so I jumped on it.

If someone's looking for a Ram 3500 DRW flatdeck base model truck there's a great deal in Prince George right now, $29,995 for a 2010 6spd only 50k on it looks in really nice shape. This was almost my plan B perhaps should have done it in retrospect..
