Does any one know if the 2001 yamaha mountain max 700 triple fit into a 2004 yamaha SX viper. Will the mounts be the same. Are they the same engine.

I dont think they changed much on those motors at all, give it a shot if she dont fit then it shouldnt be far out on it

I believe the difference is that the mountain max has no power valves. The Viper does.

Viper sure does have Power valves. Not sure about the 01 mm triple, however other than that they are essentially the same motor. Not sure of the mounts but as the wise Gent said before me, wouldnt be hard rigging it up proper

Did you try to move forward with this swap? I have a blown SX Viper that I want to put an engine in and am looking at the same option.
