Yeah guys on facebook are crying that the boys whole life to have a shot at winning the juniors will be screwed. Who cares, what about the person who lost their family, home, buisness, and even committed suicide, where's everyone crying for them.

Following a recommendation by the tournament COVID-19 Medical Group and the International Ice Hockey Federation Medical Committee, the IIHF Council has decided today that, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant, the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship has been cancelled to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
Please be advised a refund for all your future World Junior games that have been cancelled will be provided to you no later than January 28, 2022.
If you had forwarded any of your World Junior tickets to future games, those transactions will be cancelled and returned to your account for refund purposes.
If you had previously forwarded any of your upcoming World Junior tickets or sold any on Ticketmaster’s fan-to-fan resale site, those transactions will be cancelled and the tickets returned to your account for refund purposes. We will confirm your full refund amount via email by January 7, 2022.

Didn’t the players have to quarantine for a a month before hand and through Christmas? Only to have it cancelled I be pretty choked

Very disheartening for all those young hockey players. A chance of a lifetime for them and poof.... gone
Pretty much done already unless the west packs our bags and leaves.

The Tourney was pretty much doomed to be a failure as soon the Alberta government announce capacity to 50 % and no food or drinks in the stands. Who going to GAMES where you cant have a beer or something to eat in the stands. There were a few games where Team Canada games only had 4000 or so people in the stands, so just goes to show people just said Fxxck it not going. Feel sorry for the players the city of Edmonton and all the volunteers! Only 13,000 tickets were sold before the government 50% capacity also.
