Why no stick with Lincoln? I have the 210mp and it does all mig tig stick and aluminum. Spool gun for aluminum and tig stuff is extra but it covers all the bases.

I'm not brand specific to anything Lincoln just doesn't offer a unit that can do everything. I did look into keeping my unit and picking up a mig machine but after welding up some aluminum railings for the house I realized I was pushing its limits and it's getting tired.

I have looked into 2 dedicated machines but almost doubling the spending and im having a hard enough time convincing the wife to let me get 1 unit. Price between the Miller and Esab is comparable. I can get the Everlast 275 with water cooler for a few hundred less.

Looking at buying a new welder to replace my older Lincoln unit. Im wanting to get an all in one multiprocess machine and wondering if anyone has any experience with them. The 3 units I'm looking at are the Esab Rebel EMP 205ic AC/DC, Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC and the Everlast Lightning MTS 225.

I got the Miller a few months ago.

I’m just a self learning garage welder so no credibility.

I haven’t used too many of the features yet, I have just been trying to learn and practice Tig on some paper thin steal.

I like the simplicity of the millers settings so far but from the videos I watch of the other units you posted they both may have a few extra settings available or wider range in the settings.

The Miller for example may be a little hot for my skill level and paper thin material. It comes with a .04 tungsten and collet but the setting only goes down to 1/16. 22 gauge 40 amps in the auto set but can manually drop down to 35. The everlast looks like it can be set down to 10 amps.

For me the simpleness of the Miller is probably good as the machine sets a baseline for itself based on material and process.

The rebel and everlast both look great too and to offer a few extra features. Probably would be happy with any of the 3.

Gotta admit i'm incredibly impressed with my $200 mig inverter welder, compared to a miller mig that is $2000+, there is no difference for jobs under 1/4". For hobby welding, I just don't know why anyone would spend thousands and thousands for a machine that barely gets used.

For me this is a hobby welder but I love making things instead of buying off the shelf. Case and point the railing for my house, I pretty much done the interior but have about 80' to make for my deck. Then a my front gates. So it will get a fair amount of use and I have no problem setting up the welder.

I’m no welder. But that is kinda funny comment for the machines he is asking about. He’s not worried about sticking 1/4 together.

I've run a miller mig, and for the really important stuff I have someone weld it for me who has been doing it for longer then most of these "expert welders" have been alive, and the cheap machines have no problem running a good bead as per him. In a few cases he's run my chinese mig/stick and other then being finicky setting up the heat, said it welds great and I trust his opinion on welding more then anyone else. So yea, for the right use, they are a fine machine.

99% of welders cannot weld good enough to justify most of these fancy machines. You can teach a monkey to mig. There is a reason why so much welding is done by machine now, there is very few actual welders left.

Lol, you think a $4k MIG machine is fancy. I have a few cases of welding rod that each are worth more than your MIG.

Well after a bunch of research, comparisons and youtube I went with the Everlast Lightning MTS 275. Should do everything I need and then some; and welder with water cooler still come in a tad less then the Miller or Esab. Get home in 3 weeks so hopefully it will be sitting there waiting for me.

Anyone have any idea where you can locate a welding/fixture table? Google hasn't been much help to find something in a decent size in Alberta.

Depends on what you want to spend, KMS tools has a cheapie for about 200 bucks, and all the way to about 3000 for a nice magnum

I’m going to get one of my customers to cut me some plate. Doubling up the order would be easy after they load the design.

You have any ideas? I’m thinking 4x8 with extensions and a turn table. Add a few accessories like cutting table add ons. Fluid/oil catch collection under the turn table.

Im easy, dont need the turn table or anything fancy. Just need a nice size table with the holes for to mount the clamps, holders,... But I have no problem go with your design if it makes things easier. Send me a PM and we can work something out.

Was looking at that table....it was around $3600. ...it was a kit you still had to assemble, not sure what else it came with if anything.

Steel has gone through the roof as well....

Just a simple 4x8 bench with a future slide out both sides, made a shelf from some old metro wire shelving that was in the scrap bin. I can move it with a pump truck quite easily.
Just the steel alone was 1500 bucks... weighs a 1000 lbs.
