Tunnel Extension Neccesary?

Just curious, but if I were to change out my 154" track to a 163", do I have to put a tunnel extension on? Would it make a difference in cooling or anything else if I didn't do the extension?

I know tow people that have done it without issues. But haven't done it myself yet.

Just changed mine went from a 154 to a 163 flex edge. I moved the skid back 4 1/2" for a better aproch angle and made a new drop down bracket and yes I extended the tunnel 4 1/2 also

I ran a 163 under my 154 tunnel for a few years. It will clear but you will have cooling problems in low snow conditions without scratchers. With scratchers its manageable on the trail but it gets warm.
