I think the picture of the Lynx II is a 1974 model. if you check out Alpha-Sports website they have the schematics for the various years. I am currently rebuilding the same machine. it was my dad's that he kept under a roof for many years and finally parted with it last year. it is all original even down to the lepoard skin set. Will post some pictures. What did you use to polish the tunnel? I have it pretty much stripped down to clean so will try to get the same tunnel finish that you achieved.

Remember the day he brought it home, first speedometer and electric start on the block!

Cheers 330AC

Home hardware own brand paint stripper got it of,washed it off with water and wiped it down with WD40, thats it! Did it last year, im suprised how good it looks, given the salt on the roads from trailering etc, makes you wonder if they treated the tunnel in some way. All i do for maintance is wipe i down with a lil WD40.

i used the jewelers rouge and white to finish polish with buffing wheel. get it all from greggs for less than 50 bucks and you ge tboth polish bars and pads. just have to have a good grinder to run it. by the vin# its a 73 bought it as a 72 at auction but the vin has a build date of nov or dec 72. kid wants to upgrade already so looking either for a new chassis for the engine or may install a newer rear skid and bugger track. the old 1/4" steel c channel doesnt cut it in the deeper stuff.

I took my old TX440 out for its yearly run today. It was nice to get back on it for a leisurely ride. Feels like I’m riding a Shriners car compared to my RMK, but I always enjoy it.

It is a 76. The original blue was quite a bit darker. The choice was a result of a screw up when I had the frame powder coated, and I decided to just go with it. The sled was too badly damaged to make a all original restoration possible.
