Here is a pic of me and my brother on our daily drivers, I attached this pic to ensure I protected his identity. Actually he found this gift basket in the ditch and thought he would look cool wearing it as a Helmut.

Here's my '76 Yamaha GP440. Traded a guy a bottle of whisky for it. So far I've put sliders, belt and an oil cap on it.

Interesting what you've done to the Massey, I had one when I was a kid, well actually I still have it. Plan to restore it one day.
Yes it was a fun project for sure. it was sitting in a field for many years and was not really restorable so the decision was made to cut it up and turn it into a Pro Mod Drag Sled and although it is not finished yet it should go pretty good as all excess weight is gone and a 76 Suzuki 500cc free air is now the heart of this beast. Keep the one you have, it would be a nice sled restored back to original and not that many around any more.

Yep, that is basically what mine looks like right now.
Maybe it's time to restore the old girl...your photos are really motivational.
Thanks for posting the "befores"

I had a Mirage II with electric start as a kid. I had it at Allan Creek and powered it out going down hill to the cabin pushing snow. Just before it come to a halt it shifted down and dug a hole. 25 years ago I never new what hill climb looked like, couldn't get to it.:) The SRV's were rocking though!

What was the HP of those V-max4's? I also notice the clutch does not bolt directly on the crank.

lts almost like a pair of twins the cranks sit inside on another and drive a central pto. The mag is at the clutch side.

Dyno tech did a load of tests back in the day stock vmax4 was 139.bhp. There where a whole bunch of gear ratios available from 85mph to 125mph straight out the box.......with a cable brake, that may as well come of a mountain bike, it was scary.

With the aaens and jetting 159.bhp

The sweet thing is theres a huge amount of proven engine and tuning for these sleds. But its getting to be to much for the track, just as modman predicted, but it makes a nice change;).

I think the picture of the Lynx II is a 1974 model. if you check out Alpha-Sports website they have the schematics for the various years. I am currently rebuilding the same machine. it was my dad's that he kept under a roof for many years and finally parted with it last year. it is all original even down to the lepoard skin set. Will post some pictures. What did you use to polish the tunnel? I have it pretty much stripped down to clean so will try to get the same tunnel finish that you achieved.

Remember the day he brought it home, first speedometer and electric start on the block!

Cheers 330AC
