You know what’s funny, if this was someone new with minimal posts, he/she/they/it would be called a troll for bashing a company. With the possibility of being banned.
You know chit in the world is going on, people are losing their jobs and people are calling their credit companies to answers so they can sleep at night.
It sucks that your card was compromised but in all realty...you’re no special then the person ahead of you talking to the operator.
So threatening to move all your accounts because they didn’t/couldn’t deal with you right away is a bit childish. Have some patience. You’ve dealt with customers, you know what it’s like...

What is up with TD bank, my business visa card was compromised this morning and now maxed and i been on hold since 8:30 am, its now 12:56 pm now a message comes on and says we cannot handle the call volume and you will have to try back later and hangs up. I go into the branch after waiting in line for over 45 minutes and they said I have to do on the phone. So on my phone again, So now my credit card is now maxed at 15k which had a 1100 dollar balance last night and nothing I can do. Guess they don't care about there customers. Time to look at another bank and get out of this one. :realmad:
You don't have an account manager with a direct line?

Small business?

The issue I had was I couldn’t cancel it, I went into the branch and they said to stay on the call you will get though. After 3 pm it hung up, that’s why I am upset. 8:39 to 3 pm on hold. Also this is my company card which is how all my corporate bills are paid each month. I transferred a pile of cash to the card to look after all my payments to suppliers so now they have to wait as well. Never been late with any payments with my company. So not everyone has 6 1/2 hours to sit on hold then get the were don’t for the day message. I’m going to try again I’m an hour and I’m on sites tomorrow. Somebody is happy though maxing our the card on goods. Lots of visa’s money out the door.

I've found it's less about the bank and more about building a good relationship with branch manager. I hated CIBC so much and was going to move, new branch manager came and she's been great. I can call her with pretty much anything and get it done fast.

Never dealt with CWB on the banking side, but did for equipment financing. Biggest joke of a company around. Couldn't pay me to deal with them again.

My personal and business banking is with TD and it has been a complete joke the last month and a half. There are two branches in GP. They closed the one and are forcing everyone to use one. The line-up is crazy. Now you take a number and sit in your vehicle and they call you to come in. A complete embarrassment.

All I can say is I called TD this morning and was on hold for about 5 minutes. All my needs were addressed and I have come away a very satisfied customer. Just my personal experience!

Yeh I guess and I can only talk of my own experience here in GP .
Have been treated very well and just like being able to always talk to someone and not that stupid machine .
If they had a trading account system I wouldn’t darken TD’s door .
And it’s more important in crappy times to be on top of things then when things are great !! IMO

So I started at 6 am with the fraud line, hung up at 08:24. So went back to calling the number on the card, got through after 26 minutes, spoke to a nice lady from Ontario. She was able to do it all from her end. She said that the fraud line has been hammered as there is ALOT of credit card fraud happening with the criminals sitting at home. The fraudsters were still trying stuff on the card this morning, back to small purchases. They are finally sending me a card to my branch, last card that got damaged got lost in the mail and never arrived then they had to send a second card to the branch. Anyways, I'm satisfied with todays result, but it should of been dealt with this way to start with. I know covid is screwing things up and don't need to be selfish here, but I and many others need to operate our essential businesses to service our clients, this entire process still leaves me thinking, and will look at options for banking probably in the fall.

WATCH your credit cards closely right now, there are a lot of fraudsters with the Covid stuff!!

Do you have any idea how your card was compromised?
I'm only asking to be proactive

This is a business account and not personal, this is a different department and the fraud number is different. And I know where I gave the information too for a purchase that may have been the compromise, which is a local, but will not be disclosing this information. That issue has been resolved for now. I personally would not want to be stuck out of town and have been relying on this visa to pay for meals and hotels though. I will always have a few ways of paying for things.

On my personal capital one visa it sends me a text when it is used. I can add this to the new visa when it arrives. With this I know if someone is trying to use the card.

My personal credit information was compromised though capital one a few years ago and that was a nightmare to fix. I now have a monthly subscription to equifax which also emails me if any inquiries are made of my credit. All it takes is one wrong one and it’s a headache to fix.

Do you feel better now, Ron? Glad it’s all worked out.
Just remember, cancelling cards and changing to new ones affect your credit rating...

Getting a new card number after the first one has been compromised has zero impact on your credit rating. Opening another credit card however does. I've had 3 cards compromised in the last 5 years, ironically all 3 happened within a week of booking a hotel on Expedia.

Well, still baffled on how things went on this. I do understand that banks are overwhelmed by all of this and they are all working from home and been having computer issues as well. This all adds up. I think the texting thing will work great, my personal card does it. I'm just glad I keep a good eye on this account and it didn't go totally south. I have been already looking at my banking options before this and will be looking at what banks can offer me for services and lines of credit. I personally been with Canada Trust since 1980, since I had a paper route.

I'd make an appointment and go talk to a branch manager, I'm sure they'll work with you to keep your business if you've been loyal for 40 years.......
