I need to buy a winch for my maverick and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these winches, pretty good prices online, but don't want to end up with a peice of junk that doesn't work when you need it.

I had a viper 4000# and it worked well. But for the price take a look at runva winches. 4500 winch to my door with a handle switch was $215! It last all year and still going! They are a little slow going in but are nice winches. A few guy on here will say the same

I have been running the viper elite 4500 wide spool on my rzr for 3 years now with no problems.

Another vote for Runva. Great winch for the price. Have one on my Sportsman, put it on the beginning of last year and not one issue. I went with the synthetic rope instead of cable.

Alot of guys run the viper winches on the maverick without issue so I think you will be fine! Go with at least a 4000 pound though!

Had a viper 4500 on my rhino for 5 years, broke the spool a couple years back and they fixed it no problem I just had to ship it to them and they paid for shipping back to me, bought it off ebay for about $420 shipped to my door

Following the duty rating on any winch and it should last. Heat and off line pulls kill winches. A 10 second pull at maximum capacity requires a ten minute cool down to be within the duty cycle rating. Your winch is also rated with only one wrap on the spool. Every wrap you put on decreases your pulling power. The other thing that will heat up a winch and burn the armature is the amount of amps they can draw. 157 amps is A LOT on most atv charging systems

Double line if you require a heavy pull. IMO
I have a 4500lb warn and if it gives up I think I will go with the Viper wide spool elite 5000lb.
