summit 670 rebuilt

my friend has a 670 summit rebuilt start and runs well but wene you go to start it up after a little ridding it wont start up right away what could it be,coils?jets?or bad rebuild please help

They are famous for loading up. Do you need to hold the throttle open to start it? Always run a new plug. Sometime requires 2 per season depending on how much you ride. Never park / stop it sloping down. Always up or level. Check the float adjustment. Nature of the beast.

They use a viton tipped needle/seat assembly, which don't seal well, especially when the sled idles. The cure is to obtain a set of inlet needle and seats from a 94-95 Mach. They are brass, and tend to seal better, thereby not flooding the float bowl. It's been a few years since I had a summit 670, so get your dealer to look it up of buy a 98 racing handbook - tons of info in there. Hope this helps
