Speedometer going crazy

2007 Outlander 500...Was out quading today when all over a sudden my speedometer needle went crazy. It was bouncing from 0 to 40 down to 10 to 30 to 10 and so on. I also noticed lack of power every once and awhile after that. Anyone else have this problem or know what is wrong?

check the gear side of the motor. there will be two tork bolts to do undoo. once undon e hopefully there will be pieces of metal intack

is that with the speedo cable...if so I tried that but no metal.

had the same problem, instrument cluster is fubar, probably got wet, thats what happened to mine. easy to tell, if there is any fog inside the cluster then it is toast. the moisture shorts out the cluster causing the spedo to jump and some stalling, also check fuse panel under the front cover

I did notice some condensation in the speedometer housing went it was happening. What is the cost to repair/replace it?

warranty should fix it, dealer should be able to update the cluster. a new cluster is about $300 i think that is what i was told
