Speedo queston

I have a 06 crossfire 700. mine is from the U.S I found out so don't know if this may be why. when I got my sled the tach has never shows rpm at idle until I'm riding. seems anything over 3000 and it shows rpm. also if I'm on rpm should the needle show speed? If I'm on diital speedo should the needle show speed? don't have another cat to look at to check. Also my hour meter never reads hours. It still shows 0 hours. So if anyone knows how the speedo should work and would let me know that would be great. Thanks so much.

Can't remember how works but should be able to download a owners manual and it show you, let me know if need a gauge think I might have a spare for that sled have to look
