Snowbike use in snow vehicle use areas

Absolutely, the official I have been speaking with made a point to note that it is not our right to ride in these areas it is a privilege allowed to us by the alberta government and is subject to the responsible use of our backcountry areas. My response to riding off the trails would be to use them as they were designed and access the BC side or the areas designated for random sledding. Perhaps someone should look into getting certain areas of cattaract opened up to random sledding like they have west of Rocky Mountain House

Random sledding areas and Cataract Creek Snow Vehicle P.L.U.Z. - ah! The dream! The current problem with the dream is that the P.L.U.Z. shares the land with logging activity. As such, the logging company uses AB. government Forestry approved methods to "reclaim and replant" the harvested areas. These areas are a mine field, ones which I would not take a sled or bike into.

That being said, I know of the random areas you speak of west of RMH, I have sledded them. Maybe the future holds some changes? I do know that with the coming SSRP plan, there will be changes, both some loses, and I hope some gains as well for the area. All we can do is put forth an idea, back it up with reasoned arguments, and see what comes. (This is being undertaken - there is an idea percolating and being probed now with government officials for the C.C.S.V. P.L.U.Z.)
