Snorkelling 1000 outlander

Hello yes I have a 1000 outlander , snorkled , but wondering best thing to use to seal up the air box lid ? Was thinking silcone but what kind would be best to use ? Willing to here your ideas

I just use black RTV silicone around the air filter access panel.

What I did is put a thin layer of grease on the lid then in the groove that the gasket sits in fill it up with RTV sealant. That way it seals good but you will still get it apart.

With the snorkels, your air filter stays real clean. I used a pair of big channel lock pliers to get the access cover off at the end of last season to service the air filter (which was still pretty clean)...peal off the silicone, put new stuff on when you put 'er back together.
