Sled trailer for camping

We sold our 5th wheel this year due to the kids both working. I was thinking of revamping my sled trailer inside, so figured I’d go a bit extra and try camping in it for a few weekends to get some mountain biking in. Wife’s no to keen on it but I figure why not try.

Anyone do something similar? I was going to install some metal cabinets with a countertop in the v, ac wiring for a few plugs and lights. Drop down king bed at the back so if the kids come can add another mattress underneath. Some kind of vinyl floating flooring. Maybe a camplux tankless water heater.

I already have a rv furnace and trailer is insulated.

Nothing to crazy…hopefully I don’t get carried away. Lol.

Use carpet for the flooring. It's nicer than vinyl and when you load something dirty it rolls up out of the way. Carpet the walls too.

I set up mine for temporary hunting trailer. Used cots and tables. Tarped off back to park quads and a porta potty. Worked pretty good for us. Mind you the wife did not come.

We got a couple roll ends of carpet. Super glides are hard on the feet. Hope to insulate floor and do a few more things to it before this fall

Some may not want but i put in an rv escape window on opposite side as man door. If something is burning at or by man door pop out window, run. Remember when ramp is closed up no exit there. If you dont have it yet put a fan in the roof vent for air movement it will get stuffy and hot in there. Window in or beside man door to see who is knocking. Rv style dead bolt lock on man door so you can lock unlock from inside. Just a few things i did to mine.
I had the portapotty too but never used it still brand new. if you want it let me know.

Well I started organizing the front…going to run a 25a DC converter, 30am shore power, 110 lights, outdoor receptacle, couple indoor.

Got a fantastic fan for the ceiling, and probably try a portable ac.

I need to replace of if the wall panels as the vinyl covering is separated…where do you get that? Or what’s a good alternative?

Use FRP instead for the walls. Should be available somewhere in your area.

Can a guy just screw it onto the studs? Will it move lots with temps? I suppose leave a gap between the sheets. Looks like good stuff. Thx.

So just a update. Trailer has been working very well. Installed vinyl sheet flooring(loose) and outdoor carpet on the kick boards and front ramp door(don’t use it for sleds)

I also installed a set of Morryde steps that fold out and latch. Added custom latches to hold it in place while driving.

Have a magnetic screen for the entry. Planning on adding couple windows but haven’t installed yet.
