In my opinion it is not worth buying a new Doo in the US for a difference of $700. With travel, border fees and getting a recall letter from the manufacturer and not having warranty on your purchase in this country you would be a fool to buy down there now. And if any body thinks that Cat, Polaris and Yamaha is doing it better then you need to give your head a shake. Do any of us like the fact there is still a price difference? No but we have to live with it till something changes. Boycotting a manufacturer isn't going to cut it. You may as well boycott the car companies, the oil companies and the company that makes your favourite cocktail as well.

$700 is what you guys are yippin about??? come on now I tell this to people all the time drive down there, add up the fuel, and food, and beverages, and possibly hotel room, and any other little knick knack that is if the trip goes 100% then get to the border and pay that 5-12% tax depending on province now how much are you really saving? not very much! few years ago was $2000-$4000. I priced out a 2010 HCR from fast toys in kalispell 9,995 and no tax I then went and priced it here in canada and it was more like 15,499 and that was cat. for me $700 isnt worth my time and effort to go down south and buy and I live 45 minutes from the border now $4000 yes thats a different story . I think doo is pretty on track you gotta think of how many sleds are sold in the states compared to canada and especially western canada it's shocking how many more units are sold in the states and that has quite a bit to do with the price difference.

I just had this same sceneraio on a lift kit! guy messages me asks for a price on a lift I quote him $2400 for a 6" bds lift with fox shocks, carrier bearing drop, and narrow knuckle system wich isnt to bad well the kid goes online sees it advertised for $2271.00 so he calls me back asks if I can beat that price I told him get it sent to canada pay the extra $200 for oversized shipping and then the 12% tax at the border your up to $2767.52 and you better hope the product isnt damaged. i then told him if he goes and gets it installed about the fuel, hotel, food all that stuff and he finally realised hey maybe it is cheaper in canada . you really gotta look at all the little hidden fees cause there are so many you dont see until after the fact then it's to late!

Looks like Doo is being more pro-active than Cat with that pricing. Now....... where does the other 2 companies fit in?

I can only see it worth buying from the US if you are going to do some serious mods to the sled like put a Turbo on it where you void your warranty anyway. We should have a choice on the warranty.

Probably going to get flamed from all the Doo loyalists, but BRP is a Canadian company (well a Quebec company) so they should be giving there fellow country men a break. But yah it sucks that stuff costs so much more in Canada.

My point is why are they still gouging us no matter which manufacturer it it is , the $ has been at par for a couple of years now.
