06-1000x I have specialtys intake "tube" that attaches to the stock airbox. Inside the stock airbox I put uni-filter pods on the throttle bodies.Nice clean fit and no belt dust. This is something that the mach z guys have been doing with no problems.[/I]

The one that specialty used to have eliminated the stock airbox on the sside panel and they had a plastic peice made up the sttached to the side panel that fit just around the original intake screen.. then there was a hose that ran from that over to the stock airbox on throttle bodies.. Very slick set-up.. Sold lots of them but i dont know if they still have any in stock or not.

Just picked one up this morning Ken had some hose left. Looks like a pretty easy install.

Oh yah it is easy and works real slick.. Also lose all that weight off of the side panel.. and the motor breathes in fresh cold air from outside..

if you dont want to spend the cash to get these products then I suggest what I did....

buy 2 uni filters you can get them for around $35 shipped to canada....

then you take out your inner air box....take it apart and then gut it....then put the unifilters on the plastic piece then on the throttle bodies and then put the air box back on...

here are some pics..

inner air box seam you need to take apart

the part you need to take out of the air box

heat the seam a bit with a hair dryer or have it at room temp...then use a bent screw driver to help get it apart...be patient...

remove the rubber donuts and then install the uni filters...use the brp clamps not the ones that came with the uni filters....the brp ones are alot thinner...

post-8290-1226948012.jpg

size comparison

post-8290-1226948166.jpg

make sure you off set the clamps before installing...

post-8290-1226948323.jpg

use a bit of sicone spray or wd40 just to lube the boots to help for the install

post-8290-1226948461.jpg

then install your box and your good to go....now installing the box is a bit tricky....what you do is take a flat tool like a thin file or something....has to be long and then squish down the 2 filters and then install the box over top...it is tricky so just take your time....but it can be done...

post-8290-1226948689.jpg

and make sure you gut the out air box as well...no need for all that extra junk...

Just ordered some uni-filters from Recreation Supply in Saskatoon, $17.00 apiece. After seen the crap that gets into the reeds, decided there had to be some kind of filtration. If anyone has pics of the Specialty Sleds intake tube could you post them, sounds like a good idea too.
