Looks like it'll be another season on the old sled. Going out to the garage today to put a new(er) stator and recoil on the engine and should be good to go!!

Big updates this year will be plastic ski's.....but only after we get some real snow and the rock bashing is done for the season. The stock steely's are great for that crappy early season riding. Will probably still keep them for the November rides every year.

How many guys are still riding a wedge in the mountains? Gotta be a few cool wedge mods left out there in Alta and BC....US??

Old pics for now, will add some new ones this week while I am working on it.

The 650 from Hell:

A long time ago, somebody started with a few chunks of aluminum, built a custom bulkhead and created this sled. NOTHING is from the original sled that I have registration for. I have reg's for a 1987 Indy 600! Ha! A few of my own updates with the seat, bars and 151" track and it's a great old mountain sled that gets looked at and commented on more than the new sleds at the cabin or the parking lot!!

When this windshield finally does get ripped off the sled for good (already happened quite a few times!) I am going to hang it on the wall! (yes, I know the bars are off-center in the first pic. Ha!)

and that sound.....

with triple muffpots :)

Thanks for the comments guys!! This engine has spent most of its life spinning at 9200 rpm with triple pipes and race fuel. Now it is semi-retired and runs at 8100 with the single pipe on pump gas.

The old ones are still the best
Don't know about that, but you sure get a lot of looks when pulling into a crowd in Revy. A few years back, I sold this 98 to a buddy of mine and it's still going strong. The old girl's been in a lot of places. I jumped on it a couple times last year, but nope, sorry, I prefer my Pro.

Up until 2 or 3 years ago used to take a 1990 Indy 500 to the mnts. Rocked it all the way to the too of big belle in mcbride and beat my guts and back out on the trail in fernie at mountain mania. Miss that old girl she was a lot of fun !

Did get some looks up the top of bell though that's for sure.

i had a 97 and 98. I put 5200 miles on the teal 97 and 4200 miles on the 98. 2 of the best sleds I have ever owned. Ride 2014 summit 800 but bought another 97 this weekend with only 2000 miles on it because they are so damn nice!!!

There's just something about the look of the old machines. I wouldn't mind hauling the old '89 out to Golden for that vintage day they have...I think it would be good for me to get an appreciation for what my dad and uncles went through on the trips they used to take.

Then again, dad say's that's a stupid idea and I should be glad I've never ridden the trail out on the back of this beast hahaha.

Thanks. I'll take a few pics when I get home Friday afternoon. The pipes are in and the windshield is now the blacked out low profile one. . Sounds awesome!
