Does anybody know if there are any shops in or around Edmonton that specialize in rhino 660 engine rebuilds ,been in touch with a few shops in Arizona but the shipping is going to be a bit of a stinger.:beer:

I don't know of any that "specialize" in Rhino engines but I can tell you that Ronin motorcycle works in sylvan lake does nice work. Those 660 motors have been around for a while and from what I understand it doesn't take a specialist to make them rip. 686 big bore, 12:5:1 piston, more aggressive cam, a pipe and some carb mods will give you 65-70 reliable HP...or so I'm told. Any reputable shop should be able to handle that.

Kevin at Rapid Revolutions has lots of experience with the 660's and he's much easier on the pcoket book than a lot of other shops.

x2 on Ronin. Dean does fantastic work. Long time racer & I believe he was a mechanic for Blackfoot's race team. Still see the Calgary crowd come up to see him quite often (drive by his shop couple times every day).

These engines respond well to cam, h/c piston/big bore, and stroker crank (if you run stroker crank and h/c piston you will need to blend a bit of race fuel). Also a "pumper" style carb (off of a yzf or crf 450) wakes them up. Not sure on best exhast for it yet, Muzzy's work well but I am playing with one with a HMF dual exhaust right now getting it tuned in. The only downfall to adding power to these things is, if you ride them hard the bearing support on the middle drive gear can break causing a very big $ repair. There is an aftermarket bearing support and heavy duty through shaft that will lessen the chances of that happening.
