Stopped for a trail side lunch in Montana and had a black bear pop out on to the trail 50-75’ feet away from us. Stood there sniffing the air for a minute, then disappeared into the bush. We packed up and left!
Had a momma and her cub run right across the trail in front of us around Sundre.

With camping and riding season happening practice safe campfire practices.
Campfires
Before starting a campfire, check to see if your community has a fire ban in place at albertafirebans.ca.
Check for fire bans and restrictions within provincial parks at Alberta Parks.
Always practice campfire safety.
Respect fire bans.
Closely supervise all outdoor fires. Make sure the fire fully extinguished and out, before leaving.
