Re insuraing a write off snowmobile

Hey guys Looking at buying a sled that was written off by insurance, repairs where made and the sled is in perfect condition, does anyone know how to go about getting insurance again?
From my understanding you can only register the VIN# but not insure due to the write off status ?

any info will be appreciated

Bought back my written off sled and no issues with registration or insurance after.

With a car there is a registry that shows vehicle was written off so must go through a fairly rigorous inspection to make sure that the vehicles are safe. Not certain that sleds woud go through the same process or not.

On a motorcycle, the VIN is no longer recognized by the IBC. So one must get a blue VIN tag, and it will be registered/ insured as Custom or Homebuilt. The IBC is very sticky, so keep all of your receipts for the inspector, the inspection and tag is about 400 bucks if I remember correctly. According to the inspector when I had my bike done,a sled requires the same inspection if it was written off.
