Buy the honda,

Buy the best, Leave the rest where they sit. Better resale, way less problems, quiet, Will cost you way less in the long run.

What the old guy said.

Have had both Honda and Yamaha gens.
Both excellent but have found in the 3000 size the Yamaha burns less fuel and is a touch quieter.
Also the Yamaha will run without any problems in in sub 30 below temps without any problems.
Honda didn't like the real cold temps .
And yes 2000 Yamaha's on sale at dealer .

I got a kipor 3000 and for years it has been my back-up for my house when power goes out, happens 10-20 a year. One 15 amp plug will power my lights, tv, pellet stove, water pump, bogs when use the microwave. I hit the key ,shut off half my breakers, main breaker and plug it right in.

I dont know about the Polaris but I recommend any Honda, I got quite a few gennys and I like the Hondas over the Yamahas. I had a few cheaper ones like a generac and king and they were junk.

I've got a Yamaha 2400HC. size wise it's slightly bigger than a Honda 2000 and will start an RV AC unit whereas a 2000 won't.

Its as quiet as the 2000's and only a little harder on fuel.

Get the crossover plug and run 2 honda 2000's if you want to run the air and the whole trailer, still better on fuel than the 3000, less noise and easier to pack around. use one if your just running lights and charging batteries and run them both if your running the works.

If you only want a small generator for charging the batteries in your sled trailer, I have a Honda 650 that I would sell for $150. Makes almost zero noise. Was originally purchased to keep MH batteries topped up and not run the big generator (a propane powered Onan which was noisy as h*ll)

I'm not 100% sure on what I'm talking about but maybe a wire puller(electrician) can chime in. A wire puller friend of mine was running his aç unit in a larger camper with a 2000 watt Yamaha. He had to add something in the camper tho. not sure if it was a soft start for the compressor or something to store a few watts while starting the compressor started once started the 2000 watt held the load no problem. It was around 150 bucks He said it was Way cheaper than buying a 3000 watt or two 2000 watt.

How do you do this? I bought a new eu2000 and then bough a used one not realizing the Canadian versions didnt use the parallel chord. I was ashamed to be Canadian.

I Wonder if one of these hard start capacitors would start my compressor. The eu2000 will almost do it.
