Intermittenly the passed 2 days my sled has cut out a couple times almost stalled or has stalled. Couple times while on the throttle and once moveing slow across a steep side hill shut right off. A couple times it has lost rpm too and would be down 400-500 rpm. I know the relays are common so i check/changed them looked over the harness and connections. If it shuts off it starts right back up and works fine. Sled has 1500 km now sice new the idle has been intermittle low or doesnt like to idle have to play with the throttle sometimes ots fine. Could this be a possible tps relearn or replace issue ?

Possibly throttle cable streched? Adjust cable at bar or safety switch activates?

Sounds like the tss or tps. Mine did it at 200 miles. Got dealer to set it and ran fine until 2700kms and its doing again.
Look it up online, TPS is super easy to set if you have a multimeter, 12V battery, 3 beer, basic tools, and some time. A buddy and I did ours, both seperately and they now run great. Took about 2 hours, and you do not have to remove your gas tank or seat like the online instructions say to do. Our sleds idle @ 1800-1900 all day long now, no cut out either

Tps can be done with a pc5 alot easier. It was the the tss seccond last trip my throttle froze up so i loosened thcable and used lick deicer. I must not have got it as tight and the throttle was a little loose all good now.

I've had this problem several times on my '17 Axys RMK and these were always on deep snow days. I originally took it back to the dealership and explained the issue, all they did was set up my TPS sensor and put more grease in my resistors. Several rides later it was doing it again, I bought a finger throttle from munster because it eliminates the TSS. Guess what?... it STILL cuts out!

I had all these problems with my 2016 axys last season, bloody thing spent more time in the shop than on the snow. they did the TPS put on a new throttle block eliminating the throttle sensor still no change, they put in a new ECM in still no change, then on the advice of a Tek from Polaris we waited for an "updated" wiring harness had it installed and after 1 or 2 rides it seems good. We will see for sure this season.

Just out of curiosity - what kind of throttle block did they install and how did they bypass the sensor? My sons sled went down way back one day and it was a failed throttle sensor.

Mine does this when on the exhaust side only, heavy snow plugging the can on the sidehills.

I put on a CR Racing throttle block and I believe it operates like most other aftermarket throttle blocks by just removing the switch securing it in the operating position and relocating it in the engine bay allowing it to be less effected by the elements.

Check your fuel settings. Make sure it is set for non-eth only. Spoke with my dealer and with Polaris tech and there is a problem with the fuel mapping and timing mapping on the ethanol fuel setting. As long as I kept mine over 1/4 throttle it was not to bad but if I got out of the throttle at all it would fall on its face or shut down. Got me stuck more n once in some spot most guys don't want to get stuck in...

Reviving a "dead" thread. Any solution to this? I am really fighting with this issue on my 16. 1500 miles, and its randomly dying on me. I I'm fast I can cycle the key or kill switch and its back to life.

TSS bypassed (munster) Does it with Key and Tether unplugged, and also does it with tether and kill switch unplugged, also does it with key and kill switch unplugged.

I can find nothing wrong in the harness. No shorts, nothing intermittent. All relays swapped and bagged, they stay very dry now. Dealer hasn't found anything yet.

Thoughts?

Tss bypass from Munster and tps set with the tool from Indy dan. I have few Axys and for what ever reason the difference in setting tps with digital wrench vs the tool is major.

Had tps set multiple times on this sled never idled right fight from day one. Would idle at different rpms, low coming down after a big climb sometimes ect ect. Indy dan tool and it has been the best the sled had idles and low end throttle response is the best it’s ever been and cleanest. The pipe temp sensor failed and Dealer said when they had it hooked to digital wrench tps voltage was off. I told them not to touch it and check it’s spot on according to the tool.

I would pull every single electrical connection on the entire sled apart and check for corrosion. Clean each connection and use dielectric grease (not too much, wipe it flush on the female plug).

Check wires leaving the kill switch. They are small and easily damaged in tight trees. Have one with similar issue and wire insulation had been compromised and the two wires touched. Kill / tether switch is normally open so if the wires contact its the same as hitting the kill switch.

Dump some gas down the hole and pull. It it fires for a bit it’s likely the fuel pump. If i have that year of sled on a trip I carry a spare pump. I’ve had a few where they would work today and die overnight.
