K so I went riding today and she died. it was like someone hit the kill switch. My sled has a new coil and plug wires. I looked through the kill witch and teather and it looks good. how do I know it the stator is shot without pulling the flywheel?

resistance test will find the problem if there is a broken wire or low resistance( you'll need the spec), but the guarantee test is an AC output test which checks what voltage the stator is pumping out, but you need a special adaptor for an ANALOG multimeter. a digital one will not work for AC output tests.

I know my rmk 700 stoped one time.No spark.Unpluged the kill switch wires off the back, pulled the rope and it fired right up.I never did change the switch or fix it. Never use the key anyway.Worth a try good luck.

Nope, ive tried anything but I cant get to my stator (i need a puller)

and what do you plan on checking by pulling the stator?

all the tests are done electonically from outside the engine.

if your going to the trouble of inspecting it you really should replace it.

have you bypassed all the simple stuff first?

kill switch? dess? mpem?

if it aint broke dont fix it..

not saying tis not the stator but you need to narrow it down to the stator first

My bro's 02 summit 800 did the same thing a couple years ago and it was the stator.
