Hello, I'm bought my first machine and am new to the sport.

I am planning on spending this year getting used to my machine and getting out as much as possible. I have not yet purchased a avalanche beacon/probe but I plan to buy one and get some training and before I go anywhere that requires it. With that said does anyone have a suggestion of somewhere safe to ride within a decent drive from Calgary before I purchase these items?

Thanks

Welcome to the site! I'd recommend just finding a field to play around with your sled to get used to it. I wouldn't recommend b-lining it straight to the mountains because you can easily get in over your head, in a hurry.

Welcome to the forum 02, enjoy your new toy and learn your and the machines capabilities before venturing too far. Lots of help here if needed. And btw, thanks for the interest.
