I'm planning on snow checking a new sled later this week.currently riding a 2011 600 xp 146 and I am planning on replacing it with a 2015 summit 800. My dilemma is choosing between 163 T3 and 163 Summit x, i will be using the sled majority of the time lake/trail riding and occasionally in the mountains about 70/30. my question's is the 3in track to much to keep from overheating when trail riding would i be better off with a 2.5?

Doo the 2.5 and call T Team immediately at Martin Motorsports south. He will sell you the right sled.

Awesome I appreciate the input if only i could afford to own two sleds. I want to try and get to the mountains more which is why i'm upgrading but i can be at the lake within 35 mins of when it snows which is why i need a sled that works out there as well.

if money is no option you might want a freeride 154 if you hit rough trails in the Edmonton area.

Sounds like the summit x is the sled for you. And you will be VERY impressed with it in the hills anyways coming from your old sled. I would have been stoked to have another summit x this year but going to give the t3 a shot but I only mountain ride.

You can still get around in the mountains nicely on a 2.5" track, but a 3" is not the best for packed trails and lake ice.
