NASCAR.com reporting Kasey Kahne out of the 5 car next year at Hendricks. HMS says a new driver will be announced at a later date. I'm putting money on Matt Kenneth to take that ride till William Byron is ready?
Well I guess what do I know? Lol. Nascar.com reporting William Byron will make the jump to the Cup series next year replacing Kasy Kahne in the 5 car. Hendricks just got a lot younger all of a sudden.

So now we have ride openings at Childress with the 27 car, Stewart Haas at the 41 and most likely the 10 car subject to sponsorship and a seat in the 77 car still open? I think if Gene Haas overrule's Tony Stewart's dislike for Kurt Busch then Busch resign's at a reduced price at Stewart Haas which may move Kenseth to the 77 car being Toyota likes him. Kahne then stays with Chevy and moves to the 27 car? Anybody else got some theories?

1st practice results from Michigan: 21-18-11-78-2-14-42-4-24-22. Kyle Busch hit the wall in practice. If he goes to a backup he will start from the back.

So it was foot in mouth day at Michigan. First after winning the Coors Lite Pole Award, Brad Keselowski said he probably won it because Toyota teams had dialed back the power for this weekend as traditionally after the second Michigan race Nascar takes the top performing cars from each manufacturer back to their R and D center for evaluation on horsepower etc to make sure the playing field is even. Needless to say that did not go over well with Team Toyota and its drivers.
Also Kevin Harvick has made some people mad with his flapping gums. Speaking on a talk show this week he said that he feels that Dale Earnhardt Jr has stunted Nascar's growth because he doesn't win enough. Jr was interviewed about these remarks and said he would like to talk to Harvick to see what he meant by those remarks. Jr also stated he felt he has over achieved in the sport as he never set a high bar for himself with his father being one of the sports top 3 icons. Looks like an interesting weekend coming up for sure!

Brad Keselowski dominated early but Kyle Larson was the one with late race speed and took advantage on a restart in overtime to edge out Truex for the win in the Irish Hills. Here were the top 10 cars: 42-78-77-31-6-37-3-24-1-18
