NICE........LOOKS LIKE A MINI ME(MY RT1000)....... LOL

IS THAT A "BACKCOUNTRYREBEL" DECAL ON THE HOOD??:d:d:d:d

nice decal;)

You are right ric. All the '07 and newer doo 800's are the 800r motor. Usually if they were going to go they wouldn't make 1000km. Lookin forward to seein you guys this weekend.

I agree with Glen I have had 4 of the 800r' no engine troubles yet,,, most went early under 500 miles....

nice sled bunny I am sure you will be happy,,,,

so who's sled was it?

yah that is deffinetly an 800r motor. the problem was in the earlier castings of the bottom end with the first 800r engines. which are all of 2007 and early 2008 machines.

chances are your ok all the failures i have seen are between 500-2000.

i dont know what your dealer told you but there isnt a "better" version of the 2007 engine.

check on the serial# on the block casting to see if it has an "R" at the end of the serial number. that is the newer version of the 800r bottom end.

when you do the top end check the rave valves aswell. there is a repalcement guillotine.

the issue with the 2007/8 800r is in the crank bearings. first year for liquid cooled water jackets around the bearings. unforunately no thermostat for this area which means the coolant temp varies and causes the bearings to fluctuate in tolerance. the casings were also machined to tight and opened up in the succeeding years.

Nice lookin sled. I got the wife the 600 version of that model and she loved it this past season. Good power for a 600. The sled came out of a rental place in Revy and the motor was rebuilt. Not sure when but has 5600 kms on it now.
