cost wise I used Insulated tarps for my doors for abit depending on how windy it is where u are
I'll probably go that route on one door for sure. I would like one to be easy to open & close so I can keep the side by side with the plow in there. I'll need some osb and 2x4s for a shed come spring anyways, so at least it won't be a waste.

Yes what a pain, build back better is causing all kinds of delays and shortages. You can frame in the garage doors a bit to the size you need for your sxs. No problem building large doors to fit the full opening but they would have to be glued making resalvaging almost impossible.

Barn style doors but put some of the blue Styrofoam insulation on the interior of them.

That's what I'm thinking. Frame the tall door, and then just have 2 barn doors the size of a 4x8 sheet each. Big enough to pull the sxs or even the truck in if I wanted.

The framing crew got most of the roof completed today as promised. The tall roof was a real pain since they couldn't get the telehandler in to work off of safely.

They will be back tomorrow to finish off the remaining small roof of the mech room & washroom, and the remaining sheathing. Time permitting, door and windows as well.

Well, good weather rolled in today so that put a stop on the roofers coming out.

Framers got the rest of the framing, sheathing, and wrap finished up today. Just have the windows and man door to throw in tomorrow. Hopefully the roofers will come out tomorrow and get some shingles up on the roof as well.

I got one door tarped up today. Too windy to hang a temporary wall in the tall door myself though, so I'll tackle that one tomorrow.

Slow progress lately between cold, snow, and other obligations.

Finally got the shingles finished off, and started on the electrical. Might make a stab at getting the panel installed and energized this weekend. Waiting on gas risers in order to close up my trench. I opened it up before things froze solid so that I could do it with the mini hoe rather than bringing in a hydro vac.

I also temporarily closed in the door openings, with one side having an 8x8 door that I can open up and move toys in and out.

There's a newer garage door manufacturer in Alberta called Findoor. I don't think they have the same backlog as everyone else. They don't make the same kind of doors, more of a plane hanger style. Could be worth checking out. https://findoor.ca

Turns out I'm not much of a blogger. Winter hit and sledding took hold, and then when summer rolled around I found a new addiction at the race track.

But, there's been some change from the last update in between.

The end of last year, and a couple warmer days mid winter I found the time to tie in my electrical so that I could have power inside for trickle charging batteries, work lights and tunes.

Progress stalled there for a while until spring.

Spring came, sledding came to an end with one last trip with my boy at Easter, and once things thawed out a bit I decided to get my gas line in, and cover up the trench I had to jump over all winter

Happened to pick up a new toy that weekend as well, and then got started roughing in some of the electrical.

While the guys were still packing asphalt, I got busy with some landscaping.

This is right around the time I discovered HPDE. That snowballed hard in to an addiction leading to the purchase of a dedicated track car, and nearly a dozen weekends spent at racetracks.

Between the racetrack and renos on a rental house my summer didn't have a lot of free time.

After track season was over (well actually I blew the engine in the track car at the second to last event, ending my season early) I got back to work.

First goal was to finish to the electrical rough in so it could get inspected.

R40 in the short roof to get me through winter. I plan to add another r20+ worth of blown in once I finish the interior sheathing.

Vapour barrier overhead solo is definitely on my list of things to never do again.

That pretty much brings us up to today. Just finishing up the remainder of the vapor barrier, spray foamed around the windows and door, and waiting for my plumbing shipment to arrive so I can rough in the boiler and get it filled and fired up before it gets real cold.

Hopefully this weekend, but it's been a long time since I've soldered any joints, and my gas fitter friend is away on vacation until Friday so I'm not sure he'll make it to tie in my gas.
