does anyone have any update on conditions. Especially trails. Supposed to head out there next Wednesday. I realize it’s not a typical winter and this is a family trip so…
Renshaw is closed due to a bridge issue, so you have Belle and Lucille remaining. They will be busier areas due to Renshaw being out of commission.

Yes 100%. Very familiar with McBride been ridiing there for almost 20 years. I’m more worried about the condition of the trail as I’m bringing the whole family

Just got home 2 days ago. Rode Chappel on Thursday and then drove to Lucille Friday. Snow sucks. Don’t go west until they get a reload. Fernie or Golden or Revy would be my best guess. Snow was super hard and tracked out. Trails are ice and gravel at the valley bottom. Chappel was good enough to see and get around and explore. McBride was sunny and super crusty. Like could stand on the crust but jump and sink to your knees. Was good to get out but I’m not going back till they get more snow.

I was up last week Their is plenty of snow to take the family out for a tour and enjoy the mountains. trails were excellent but if your family wants to ride hard you will have to work for it and pray you don’t hit anything lol. That being said I still managed to show my kid how to get stuck a couple times haha.

Anthill looked thin a couple weeks ago when I stumbled across a YouTube video of the place.

Talking to a some riders,

Renshaw Trail: Closed
However:
1. Enter at your own risk, No Search and Rescue.
2. Gate is Closed.
3. Trail is not groomed, apparently is in OK shape.
4. Decent snow further you go in otherwise lots of hazards.
5. Quite a few sledders in there on over the weekend.

Reminds me the old North, and south dore riding days.

......and the good old days before grooming of Renshaw with the trail cut out through the trees from KM27 to the alpine.
Will be good for the youngsters to get a taste of the way things used to be :)
