Ive got a 2000 800 RMK with a 156 track and 2inch paddles and just recently picked up a new 2013 RMK 155 800. I dont want to let the old Gen 2 go but would like to attempt to make one nasty MOD sled, was wondering if anyone out their would share some ideas or past headaches? Its got the extended track with a 4 wheel big wheel kit, pro taper bars, boss seat, SLP airvents,Pipe and can,Boost bottle,Better Boards, Fox shocks, side hiller 2 skis. Was thinking of porting the track, porting the big wheels, trying to find a lightweight cowling and bumpers. Let me know what you think , where would you take it from here??

It sounds like you have a lot of stuff done already. I wouldn't bother with the ported track for sure. That idea had a very short life span as it had more disadvantages than advantages. You could try to get hold of an extra light skid frame from an edge suspension. They weighed quite a bit less than the extra 10 you have in there now. A lexan hood would be a nice option but they probably are not available anymore.

lexan is still available, just looking at some yesterday. i would personally go mesh. track porting is not gone, its here to stay as it just works better. yes track life is down but its better. try the mesh hood. timbersled skid. fabcraft tunnel and trailing arms. check out fabcraft classifieds for the killer idea on mod sled.
