looking for a newer sled. only got 8000 to spend. I like the 2010,2011 m8's and the 2010 rmk's. what are some of the problem with this two sleds? i rode a summit for the past 6 years and sick of the xp chassis. thanks for any input...

For $8000 you could probably get a 2012 in those models which are better sleds in my opinion. If you are going with a 2010 I'd probably get the m8 solid motor in a tough chassis that's easy to ride.

rode a m7 2006 from new and went with rmk for upgrade don't care for the newer arctic cat chasis real problem with belts @200$ a pop thought would be to pricey to stay with cat don't get me wrong they definitely ride nice and have great throttle response blowing belts was a real turn off for me

Check with Mountain Toys in Cochrane, They have a new 2010 RMK with full warranty that might be around that price other wise like others mentioned, you would likely find a newer used unit for $8000.00

That would be his dads I would think. It would have pretty easy miles and well taken care of! And you know Maxwell never drove it lol

In my opinion it's personal preference. I rode with a couple guys with pro's in super deep powder and we all went the same places. You can't beat the cat motor though. I went from an 09 M8 to a 12 Proclimb and the Proclimb is leaps and bounds better than the old M. Mine is for sale in the classifieds if you interested. I'm buying a left over 14 Proclimb.

I would say go with the m8, used prices are good and tons of parts available. Can't go wrong.

I say cat also. I ride with mostly cats and a couple xm's. haven't towed a cat out in a few years. My xm lost the raves 2 times. Fuel pump. Stator. All in 2700 km. There's lots of cat flack on here. But. They are a good sled. Super tough chassis and motor
