Low end stutter on 800etec

Just bought a used 800etec with ~800km on the engine. When you hit the throttle it has a bit of a stutter but then perks right up. Was going to put some miles on it and see if it goes away but thought I’d put it out there to see if anyone has any suggestions?

What elevation, and what clicker ya on??

What Tex asked as its not loading the motor enough.
Etec’s are bad for this but easy fix .
Clicker up towards #1 will solve the problem.

Right now at 700m. Clickers on #3

Had a similar issue on my 800 ETC. Turned out to be reeds. Worth a look.

What rpms you pulling at wot..... start with the above mentioned clicker adjustment.... turn to 1.... pinner check rpms... think the etecs are around7800- 8000 rpm max

It's the built in 'rpm rate of increase' limiter. As said needs more load. At your elevation go to clicker 1 and even then may need to add pin weight as they are clutched for 3k'-10k' and you are way on the low end of that and probably in thin snow right now.

If you keep revving it and it flutters, will need reeds as it back fires in the intake

Mine went at 800 KMs. Only think I could recall was a backfire when doing a hot start the spring before. One set cracked but replaced both sets since we were there already.

Could also be old fuel...swap it out, you never know how old it is.
