Thanks for all the help. Joined forum after getting burned buying a 2001 zrt 800. Found some good advise . Bought a sled with 1 new cylinder and piston but the cause was never fixed. Rode 80 miles and it took out the pto piston again with the center one not far behind. Ended up with bad carbs due to the boot being dryed out and cracked. A folded over reed valve gasket. Bad water pump seal leaking into case. Lucky I have a intellegent son who works for caterpillar. New cylinder, three piston, new water pump seal, complete gasket kit, rebuilt carbs. It pulls like a monster. Sled was advertised excellent condition. My son tells me I should throw the old parts :nono:
Thats my intro post. Next time I will bring a pair of vice grips, pull muffler springs and look. I only feel bad for the next guy that might get taken.
