we went to Home depot in 90 when we bought our acreage, they had Poulan 14.5 hps for $999.00 within a month the frt hood hinge broke off the plastic hood, phoned Home Depot, go to local small engine dealer for estimate and bring here.well, there are no parts available yet he said, its too new,But a new hood would be $750.00 w hinges,,,took the estimate to Home Depot,,,they wrote me a cheque for it? now my mower cost $150.00
used it with a door hinge on it for 10 yrs.then sold it for $800.00
went back to Home depot in 2001.bought a John Deere 120 hydro with elec mower clutch for $1000 ... used it till last yr,sold it for $1200 at our garage sale...went to Home Depot again and bought my latest JD 120, hydro trans , manual mower clutch for $1299.00.

$999 minus $750 equals $249 not $150

we have had our john deer for 21 years. the only thing we have go wrong with it is the belts wearing out. works like a charm still.
