Installin better boards how to?

What is the best and easiest way to install better boards on a sled? Do you have to flatten out the stock boards? Easiest way to cut holes out?

I just cut everything off and bought trim for a 08 m8 it wrked the best i had just cut out centers with stock trim but changed it a year later to the current set up and found it lighter and just as strong or stronger plus way cleaner . By everything i mean to leqve some at the end to rivet onto what sled do you have

my mod rods boards i just put them over my boards and perm marker the holes on the tunnel.... cut the holes out and file everything smooth...
