So i purchased 3 Honda CRF250r's in the us not knowing that i would need anything special to be able to import them properly. Turns out i need a factory clearance letter from Honda and Honda wont give me one. I have brought over sleds and it has never been an issue. Instead of a factory clearance letter i would get a service history letter and that has been sufficient or worst case scenario i could always pay the 500 bucks and buy a clearance letter. Anyways i'm driving back and am still on the U.S. side of the border and am wondering if any one has done thins and can help me out with my options.

Are these new or used bikes? If they are new won't the US dealership give you a letter?

Or here is some info I pulled off of Registrar of Imported Vehicles

Honda
715 Milner Avenue
Toronto, ON, CA, M1B 2K8

Phone #: 1-888-946-6329
Web site address: Honda.ca Official Website of Honda Canada Inc.
Additional notes:

American Honda Motor Co., Inc

1919 Torrance Boulevard, Torrance, CA 90501-2646 Tel: 1-800-999-1009 Fax: 310 783-3023 Honda.com: Official Site of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Motorcycle Division

P.O. Box 2200, Torrance, CA 90509-2200 1-866-784-1870

RIV will accept any of the following recall clearance information:

1) A letter from the vehicle manufacturer’s U.S. or Canadian head office.
2) A printout from an American or Canadian dealership’s vehicle service database.
3) Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) web site.

It is my understanding that you don't need this info to import the bikes, but you will need it prior to the release of your inspection docs.

Hope that helps...:d

Hey thanks for the info. I got the bikes used one 2 from private 1 from a dealership. The dealership is not allowed to sell you a bike knowing that it's going to Canada this is to stop the two markets from getting together. I guess if they are caught selling to a Canadian they will pull their dealership license. [
