I have not noticed any play. When I installed it, I had to push the pipe forward, push the can into the belly pan, then bring the pipe back and hook up the springs. It is a snug fit.

Maybe I'll try a stiffer spring than the one I used. It was snug getting it mounted, but after the springs were attached I could move the can back and forth. I went on hps website and the pics they have show the toe hold spring bracket, relocated to the chaincase.
