hi there. this has been my first year sledding and i went out and bought myself a brand new summit XP. the reason for buying the sled is that my girlfriend and her family have been doing it for years and when they would go last winter i would feel left out so this year i decided i needed to buy one. so i did. for a beginner this is a really easy sled to learn on. my first two trips to the mountains were tons of fun and some people said i was crazy cause both those trips i had no brakes what so ever (but thats another story). for both those trip i went out to Sicamous, BC. the riding out there is so fun and the snow is awesome. i would like to thank the guys from sled bunny racing for introducing me to this site and i would also like to thank my girlfriend Sara for getting me into this sport.

Welcome Kostar....

I hope you enjoy the site. Since you've made two trips to the mountains.... let's see some pictures bud! (the "good" stuck ones...) :D

Don't forget to post your pin in the members map [after logging in, you'll find it down the left side of the main screen]

Why are you hauling butt down the highway without brakes, inherently more dangerous while driving through the mountains....????

Do you not like your girlfriend or something....? I'd be thinking the two of you would be like white on rice...

HEY KOSTAR: WELCOME ABOARD... SCOTT CAME IN YESTERDAY AND WE YAKKED FOR QUITE A WHILE. DID YOU EVER GET THE BRAKES WORKING PROPERLY?? I KNOW THAT WILL BE A RIDE YOU'LL NEVER FORGET, EH?? DROPPING DOWN SOME OF THOSE STEEP TRAILS WITH NONE, OR VERY LITTLE BRAKES. AT LEAST WE WERE ABLE TO BLEED THE BRAKES A LITTLE AND GET "SOME" BRAKES OUT OF IT. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TELL THE STORY OF YOUR BRAKES AND HOW THEY FAILED PREVIOUSLY, SO EVERYONE READING THIS KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED..... ENJOY THE SITE, AND EXPLORE AROUND IT... THERE IS A CASINO, AND ARCADE, AND PICS AND VIDEO TUBE SECTION. GONNA TRY AND SQUEEZE ANOTHER TRIP(OR 2) BACK TO SICAMOUS, AND ONE TO TROUT LAKE(SOUTH OF REVY). SCOTT SAID HE WANTS TO HOOK UP FOR ONE MORE TRIP TOO. :welcomebluesign:

well for that story of no brakes. my first time ever riding the new machine my cousin and I were riding around the farm. we went back to the house to wait for the others to show up. when i other cousin came he wanted to take the sled for a rip. when he took off he didn't realize the park brake was on. (at this point the sled had 10km on it). when he came back he said it was sluggish compared to the arctic cat (i wonder why). it was when my other cousin hopped on and tried to use the brake we realized there were non. this was all 4 days before my first trip to the mountains. so the first trip was fun and went well without brakes. so when i got home i replaced to rotor and the caliper. my second trip my brakes wouldn't hold pressure. so we bled the line and it still didn't hold. we would build pressure but once the sled rolled it lost all pressure. so when i got home and started to work on the brakes again i realized the new rotor had a warp in it. so i straightened it out and NOW I HAVE BRAKES!! :) i am looking forward to my first trip to the mountains with brakes.

thanks for all your help guys and i had a blast riding with you. hope to ride with you all again soon. oh and i saw all those pics on sled bunny from our trip. those are pretty cool.

I posted a bunch more photos this weekend...check them out.
Here is the photo where you had to tip the sled over because of the "no brake" thing.
