Head shim or no head shim???

Hey just a quick question.......I have an 08 nytro with a stage 2 MPI charger on it. Bought it used, I'm wondering if the engine has a head shim on it??? Cannot contact previous owner to ask. Can you see or tell if this has the shim WITHOUT taking the engine apart?? Furthermore I'm thinking about getting a bit more power out of it and want to make sure I'm taking the necessary steps so the engine doesn't crater on me!!!

You can look between the head and case. If you can see a shim approx. .080 then you have your answer. Most didn't shim the Supers. Best is to call MPI directly fro all your questions. I'd imagine you are on a Race fuel program already.

Hey thanks. I'll take a look. Yes I'm running straight VP C-111. Yes a lil pricy I know but if ya want to run the high boost, it's gotta be done! Haha
